Job Summary
Perform basic electrical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs on residential units, including clearing stoppages, replacing fittings, fitting doors, and painting. Respond to work orders and resident requests while conducting unit inspections, move-in/out assessments, and make-ready processes for vacant apartments. Execute custodial and grounds tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and window cleaning in common areas. Maintain accurate records for preventive maintenance, inventories, and purchase orders, ensuring all areas are locked and lighting is adequate. Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required for emergency or scheduled shifts.
Required Qualifications
- 1 year minimum maintenance work experience
- experience in a related field
- High School Diploma
- training or experience in carpentry
- training or experience in light plumbing work
- training or experience in light electrical work
- training or experience in painting
- training or experience in refurbishing
- training or experience in cleaning
- training or experience in air-conditioning
- Valid Driver's License
- acceptable driving record
- Willingness to pitch in and work in areas other than strictly repair maintenance
- Must be personable and trustworthy
- ability to work well with residents and co-workers
- ability to perform work in a safety conscious manner
- ability to read, speak and comprehend work instructions and safety notices in the English language
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays if required for emergency, on-call or scheduled shifts
