Job Summary
Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain facility and operational equipment using hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment. Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, and perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting on production machines. Execute scheduled maintenance, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs on boilers, heat trace systems, and plant facilities while reading work orders and equipment manuals. Perform basic machinist duties, plumbing maintenance, and carpentry functions. Detect faulty operations or defective materials and report them to supervision. Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean work areas. May be required to be on call and work non-standard hours.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- completion of a craft apprenticeship
- equivalent combination of education and production maintenance experience
- Experience or training in forklift operation
- Experience in the use of hand tools and machinery
- Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing maintenance experience in diagnosing and repairing hydraulics, pneumatics, HVAC, electrical, and electronic systems
- Regularly required to talk and hear
- Very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the day
- Must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
