Job Summary
Maintenance Technician responsible for general building maintenance, cleaning, safety, operating and maintaining the Chemical Room, including chemical handling and pre/post etching of glass; performs equipment repair and plant maintenance; maintains OSHA/HAZMAT compliance, coordinates with outside vendors and contractors, and assists with equipment capital improvement projects and cost reductions; requires basic electrical, carpentry, and plumbing skills, basic machine repair, good communication, and ability to work flexible hours with potential overtime, including climbing and ladder work and lifting up to 75 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Maintenance Technician or equivalent position
- Basic electrical skills
- Basic carpentry skills
- Basic plumbing skills
- Basic machine repair skills
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as needed
- Capable of working off ladders (including 20ft extension ladder)
- Ability to perform chemical handling in accordance with OSHA/HAZMAT requirements
- Awareness of safety requirements for chemical handling
- Mowing, weed whacking, leaf blowing, general outside clean up
- Physical ability to perform lifting and carrying tasks as described (regularly balancing, bending, climbing, crawling, crouching, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, etc.)
- Ability to coordinate with outside vendors and contractors
- Ability to prepare job estimates and material lists
- General maintenance of plant or office buildings
- Operate and maintain the Chemical Room and perform pre/post-etching tasks
