Maintenance Technician

Job Summary
Facilities Technician II maintains the physical condition of the property per The Scion Group’s SOPs, performs preventive maintenance on major building systems, responds to maintenance and repair requests, prepares apartments for turnovers, coordinates with vendors, and assists in emergency/disaster plans. The role handles life-safety systems monitoring, safety procedures, and requires strong problem-solving, technical abilities, and reliable follow-through in a fast-paced, collegiate environment. The position operates at an assigned property with potential travel and serves in an on-call capacity; expects safe operation of HVAC and building systems, security systems, and related administrative duties.
Required Qualifications
- High school/GED or trade school diploma and with minimum of 3-5 years of full-time general maintenance experience
- HVAC certification/EPA 608 certification (Core, Type I, II & III)
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO), or intention to obtain within six months
- Clear and effective communication skills
- Knowledge of key management and security systems
- Knowledge of safety procedures with a safety conscious attitude, record of punctuality and dependability, ability to work with pressure of aggressive deadlines, and flexible schedule to accommodate after-hours and weekend emergencies
- Valid driver’s license
- Demonstrated ability to access computer programs and use or learn basic computer operations related to position requirements (ie. Entrata, CMMS, Building Automation system & Digital Control System)
- Ability and willingness to travel when required
- Ability to stand 8 hours or longer per day and lift up to 100 lbs. as necessary
