Job Summary
Maintenance Technician responsible for daily care, maintenance, and operational support of The Overlake School campus, including building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, BAS, access control), grounds upkeep, safety compliance, and service-oriented operations. Will perform routine and responsive maintenance, inspections, and minor renovations; support campus events; ensure a safe, clean, and functional environment for students, faculty, and staff. Requires active participation in safety procedures (LOTO, emergency drills), reliability in documenting work in FMX, and a willingness to grow technical skills across multiple trades. Must have valid driver’s license and be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends; physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights up to 40 feet.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in a facilities-related trade or field, OR minimum three years of commercial or residential grounds management experience
- Technical skills: Working knowledge in at least one trade (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry); multi-trade experience strongly preferred; willingness to grow across campus systems
- Valid driver’s license; ability to operate commercial tractors, riding lawn mowers, and 4WD vehicles; willingness to work evenings, weekends, and outdoor conditions; able to pass a background check
- MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Teams; FMX or equivalent CMMS; four check-ins per day; maintain ability to grow competency over time
- Must be able to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs; physical ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and work at heights up to 40 feet
- Experience in educational or institutional facilities environment preferred
