Job Summary
Repair and maintain industrial equipment by troubleshooting mechanical components, hydraulic systems, and electrical issues. Diagnose and fix motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and welding repairs using schematics, multimeters, and test equipment. Install new machinery, align systems with precision tools, and support VFD drives, PLCs, and SCADA. Document preventative maintenance, test circuit continuity, and ensure a safe work environment while working at heights and operating lifts. Requires 2+ years in electromechanics, proficiency with power tools and welding, and experience with 480VAC, 4-20mA systems, and bearing heaters. Monday through Thursday shifts from 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM with a travel stipend for Pen Argyl commuters.
Required Qualifications
- 2 + years' experience working in Electromechanics, Industrial Maintenance or relevant field
- Proficient with use of power tools, measuring devices, lathe and/or milling machinery
- Previous experience using bearing heaters, interference fits, and/or removing gear boxes or seized bearings/shafts
- Previous experience with stick and MIG welding
- Will need to fabricate projects as well as make welding repairs
- Proficient Electrical skills
- Proficient in troubleshooting electrical components; IOs, OLs, contactors, relays, break resisters and various other electrical components
- Read and comprehend schematics and diagrams
- Experience with 480vAC, 120vAC, 24vDC, and 4-20mA systems
- Able to use multi-meter, megger, and other test equipment
- Maintain, install, troubleshoot VFDs, programmable sensors, SCADA, HMI, and PLCs
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes
- Collaborative; Works in the spirit of partnership
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 80 pounds
- Must be able to closely inspect and continually monitor all machines in the production process
- Must be able to regularly move throughout the facility
- Must be able to regularly reach with hands and arms
- Must be able to regularly talk or hear and smell
- Must be able to occasionally remain stationary
- Must be able to occasionally ascend and descend steps and ladders
- Must be able to occasionally position self in tight spaces
- Must be able to work at heights and use equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and scissor lifts as needed
- Must be able to troubleshoot, repair, and replace mechanical components (motors, gearboxes, conveyors, bearings, chains, belts, pulleys, rollers, etc.)
- Must be able to diagnose and repair hydraulic systems (cylinders, valves, solenoids, pumps) and build hydraulic hoses as needed
- Must be able to perform welding and fabrication repairs (MIG & stick) in various positions
- Must be able to troubleshoot electrical issues using schematics, wiring diagrams, multimeter, and megger
- Must be able to install and align new equipment using hoists, jacks, and precision tools
- Must be able to troubleshoot and support VFD drives (SEW, Siemens, Lenze, Allen Bradley)
- Must be able to test equipment, identify needed parts, complete repairs, and document preventative maintenance
- Must be able to maintain a clean, safe work area and follow all safety procedures
- Must be able to keep production equipment running safely and efficiently while helping improve reliability across the plant
- Must be able to enjoy real troubleshooting (not just swapping parts)
