Maintenance Technician

Job Summary
Perform preventative maintenance on physical structures and bio-med equipment, including HVAC controls, electrical wiring, and plumbing systems. Execute urgent corrective repairs for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing needs while inspecting and testing emergency generator systems. Maintain facility upkeep such as painting, wall repair, and unclogging drains, reading blueprints to interpret instructions and prepare specifications. Complete routine inspections, record all maintenance activities, and adhere to strict safety protocols and building codes. Work on-call after hours to support patient care and ensure a safe environment. Maintain confidentiality and follow all hospital policies, safety programs, and required certifications.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- CPR and hospital-selected de-escalation technique certification
- One year building maintenance and/or general labor on construction projects or related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
Desired Qualifications
- Some college or vocational program
- HVAC certification
- Minimum of two years experience in HVAC repair and maintenance
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in a behavioral healthcare setting
