Maintenance Technician - Starland Village

Job Summary

Diagnose and repair defects in apartment buildings, grounds, and amenities while completing work orders within 24 to 48 hours. Execute "make-ready" processes for vacant units by creating punch lists, scheduling vendors, and performing pre-move-out inspections. Manage inventory in the maintenance shop, track material usage, and coordinate contractor work to verify quality standards. Treat residents with respect, respond to complaints, and conduct periodic property inspections to identify safety and risk management concerns. Maintain grounds through cleaning, pressure-washing, and painting as needed. This role requires EPA refrigerant certifications, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Required Qualifications

  • Employment history that demonstrates the application of knowledge and skills sufficient in the safe use and maintenance of hand tools, power tools, user moved aids, mechanical equipment, and measuring devices
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate effectively
  • Demonstrated mathematical skills necessary to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers, decimals, and fractions
  • Demonstrated ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define and correct problems
  • Demonstrated ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Demonstrated proficiency in internet, word processing, spreadsheet, and database management programs
  • Incumbents must have EPA certifications Type I and II or Universal for refrigerant recycling
  • All certifications required by State and Local jurisdictions
  • Current valid driver's license
  • Must be able to push, pull, lift, carry, or maneuver weights of up to fifty (50) pounds independently and one hundred and fifty (150) pounds with assistance
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Routine, travel may be required to assist properties as needed, attend training classes, business meetings, or other situations necessary for the accomplishment of some or all of the daily responsibilities of this position

Desired Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is preferred
  • Property management system experience is preferred
