Maintenance Technician

Job Summary
Inspect, test, maintain, install, repair, and modify systems, equipment, and structures within the hospital. Perform preventive maintenance on assigned systems and coordinate work with additional craftsmen to ensure completion. Establish new preventive maintenance routines and modify existing ones in your zone. Communicate daily with supervisory personnel, nurses, patients, and staff to ensure optimum patient care and business environment. Respond professionally to needs and keep staff informed regarding work status. Report code compliance violations to supervisory and management personnel in Engineering. Use hand, power, and technical tools to perform repairs while standing for up to eight hours and lifting loads up to 60 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent certificate (G.E.D.)
- Valid state issued motor vehicle license
- Three years of experience in one or more trades found in the Engineering Department
- Technical school certification may be substituted for up to 18 months experience
Desired Qualifications
- Three years of experience in one or more trades found in the Engineering Department preferred
