Job Summary
Maintenance Technician/Specialist role on night shift (4:00pm–2:30am) for City of Lakewood Public Works. Maintains streets and performs asphalt repair tasks; operates dump trucks, snowplows, and other equipment; assists in repairing water and sewer breaks; duties include pothole patching, grading roads, yard and shop duties, and storm sewer work. Requires CDL Class B with air brake and tanker endorsements (or ability to obtain in 6 months), Flagger certification (or ability to obtain in 6 months), and ability to pass post-offer physical and background checks. Must be able to work outdoors, perform physically demanding labor, and participate in-on call/shift requirements; night-shift schedule and safety procedures emphasized.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid CDL Class B license with air brake endorsement and tanker endorsement (or ability to obtain in 6 months)
- Flagger certification (or ability to obtain in 6 months)
- Ability to pass post-offer physical examination and background check
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill to perform as laborer and truck/loader operator
- Ability to operate patch trucks, bobcats, sewer cleaners, street cleaning equipment (for higher steps)
- Demonstrated ability to work safely and set up safe work zones
- Proficiency with hand tools listed (jackhammer, power saw, etc.)
- Interpersonal and teamwork skills
