Maintenance Technician - South Hall

Job Summary
Conduct building repairs, preventative maintenance, and minor carpentry work for South Hall, including plumbing, electrical, and door hardware fixes. Hang sheetrock, replace ceiling and floor tiles, and perform concrete and masonry repairs on walkways and exterior structures. Prepare materials lists for work orders and estimate job times. Assist with furniture moving and event set-ups while serving on University committees as requested. Work independently in the 1st shift, operating power tools and adhering to safety protocols regarding chemicals, hazards, and outdoor inclement weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Able to communicate both orally and in writing.
- Valid Florida Driver's License.
- Three years of experience in the building maintenance field.
- Must be familiar with general building maintenance trades.
- Ability to operate power saws, drills, grinders, sanders, and other power hand tools connected with the maintenance and carpentry trade.
- Ability to work 1st shift hours as assigned.
- May be required to lift, push, or pull up to 70 lbs.
- May be exposed to chemicals, mechanical, or electrical hazards.
- May be exposed to dust, fumes, or odoriferous working conditions.
- May be required to work outdoors in inclement weather.
- Employee is required to wear protective clothing or devices.
