Job Summary
Respond to residents' service calls by completing plumbing repairs, laying and repairing tile, installing drywall, and fixing electrical switches. Perform occasional tasks including mending fences, assisting with HVAC and refrigeration repairs, cutting keys, trash pickup, lawn care, pool cleaning, and shampooing carpets. Maintain all electrical and mechanical equipment and appliances to ensure a safe, comfortable, and attractive living environment. This role requires consistent attendance as an essential function for community operations. You must hold a valid driver's license, current Fair Housing certification, and relevant HVAC or EPA certificates. After-hours emergency response and rotating schedules for evenings, weekends, and holidays are standard.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read and write English
- Prior experience reflecting overall general mechanical aptitude and ability
- Valid Driver's License (if operating a vehicle)
- EPA Certificate for Freon Recovery; HVAC Certificate
- Current Fair Housing Certification
- Must be available for after-hours emergency calls
- Must be placed on a rotating schedule to respond to evening, weekend, and holiday service calls
- Must be able to walk, bend, stoop, reach, kneel, crawl, stretch, climb stairs or ladders, and stand for periods of time
- Must be able to be exposed to inclement weather, noise, dust, heat, and mechanical equipment
- Must be able to be exposed to potentially dangerous products and chemicals
- Must be able to perform heavy lifting
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced training, such as that obtained from a mechanical/supervising trade or technical school
- Prior experience as Service Manager for a multi-unit property
