Maintenance Technician - Skilled Roving

Job Summary
Respond to work orders, prepare units for new move-ins and perform preventive maintenance across Hornig Companies' Minneapolis/St. Paul locations. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair apartment maintenance issues including plumbing, electrical, blinds/doors, lighting, smoke detectors, and minor sheetrock/caulking/appliance repairs. Provide building-repair expertise with focus on aging/historic buildings; communicate with residents with care and uphold customer service standards and Fair Housing guidelines. Work within a team of technicians with on-call rotation and additional holiday pay; company provides a full benefits package including PTO and 401(k) match. Boiler license is preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months. Requires ability to lift up to 75 pounds, stand/walk up to 8 hours, and operate required work-order/time-tracking apps; 8+ years maintenance experience with multi-housing experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years maintenance experience
- Special Boiler’s License, or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Valid Driver’s License and meet car insurance requirements
- Mechanical, plumbing and light electrical aptitude
