Job Summary
Install and maintain production machines and plant facility equipment while performing emergency repairs during production and scheduled maintenance during machine service. Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, and adjust systems using hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment. Read and interpret manuals and work orders to execute preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities, including plumbing and carpentry functions. Detect faulty operations and defective material, reporting unusual situations to supervision while complying with safety regulations and maintaining clean work areas. Perform duties in a fast-paced manufacturing environment involving irregular hours, standing, and exposure to dust, heat, and fumes.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 12 months of maintenance experience
- Ability to use various types of test equipment, hand tools, and mechanical devices
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Basic shop math skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including frequent lifting, carrying, and moving of materials, often in awkward or confined positions
- Knowledge of and adherence to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and safety requirements
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Correctable vision to be within the normal range for visual inspection of parts
- Eye-hand coordination sufficient to operate machinery
- Full range of body motion including handling and lifting, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination
- Ability to work irregular hours
- Tolerance for disagreeable working conditions including exposure to dust, heat, fumes, cold, noise, vibration, water, oil, and etc.
