Maintenance Technician

Job Summary
Conduct routine inspections of Self, Inc. facilities and equipment, including fire alarm systems, smoke detectors, and carbon monoxide detectors, to ensure health, safety, and code compliance. Perform general facility maintenance covering plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and landscaping as directed by the Facilities Manager, while maintaining security and control of all tools. Utilize the maintenance work order system to report completed work, assess repair scope, and communicate status updates promptly. Manage inventory control systems for supplies and tools, utilizing assigned vehicles for work assignments. Work rotating on-call weekend and evening schedules for emergency responses and provide support to outside vendors when necessary. Complete mandatory in-service training and maintain confidentiality regarding residents, staff, and vendors.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- minimum of two (2) years training and/or experience in a range of major system repairs
- ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of constituencies
- ability to react quickly and appropriately in an emergency
- ability to frequently walk, stand, crawl, climb, bend, stoop, and lift 25 pounds or more
- strong verbal and written communication skills
- valid driver's license
- motor vehicle record
- Criminal Background clearance
