MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN- ROTATING SHIFT

Job Summary
Respond to maintenance calls from patient floors, inspect and adjust equipment, and perform preventive maintenance including filter changes and lubrication. Diagnose malfunctions, schedule repairs, and coordinate with hospital departments or contractors as needed. Operate boilers, chillers, and pumps to regulate system pressure and temperature while maintaining equipment logs and testing water quality parameters. Monitor electrical switch gear, maintain emergency generators, and ensure a safe work environment in the facility. Rotates day, evening, and weekend shifts with on-call availability.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED or higher level of education
- Graduate of a trade school or equivalent OR two (2) years' related work experience
- Strong leadership ability
- Good organizational skills
- Independent and critical thinking skills
- Sound judgment
- Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience
- Act 34-PA Criminal Record Check from the PA State Police system
- Valid Driver's License (if out of state hire, the record report from applicable state's driver license department is required)
- Travel may be expected locally between System locations
- When lift requirement is in excess of 50#, lift assistance (2 person) and/or transfer device is required
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrate knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, A.T.S. door hardware, casework components and various finishes
- Knowledge in reading construction drawings and performing material take offs
- Knowledgeable of applicable codes and regulations
- Journeyman's certificate preferred
