Job Summary
Repair and maintain lighting fixtures, ballasts, circuit switches, 115V outlets, and HVAC systems including filters, motors, and refrigeration coils. Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on plumbing, carpentry, and flooring while clearing drainage stoppages and patching walls. Operate fire alarm and security systems, complete work orders on a PC and PDA, and respond to on-call emergency repairs. Maintain clean mechanical rooms, organize supplies, and document actions per JCO requirements. Work flexible hours at Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital in Charleston, SC.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent or be able to obtain GED within 6 months of hire
- Must be able to work flexible hours
- 3+ years of experience in the repair and maintenance of health care facilities including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and physical plant equipment
- Fluent in English language to speak, read and write clearly
- Must have a working knowledge of computers
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Maintain correct and accurate record keeping
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills
- Experience in leading the project management process
- Proven record of providing excellent customer service
- Understand and abide by all applicable Safety Data Sheets (SDS) procedures
- Understand and abide by all Lock Out Tag Out procedures
- Possess a working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PDA
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Must successfully pass a background check and drug test
