Job Summary
Maintenance Technician at Wixby House in Austin, TX responsible for preventative maintenance, completing work orders, and preparing units for new residents. Roles include general maintenance of multifamily apartment buildings, electrical/plumbing/appliance repairs, painting and cleaning during unit turns, proactive communication with Property Managers/Maintenance Managers/Residents, and participating in an on-call after-hours/weekend schedule. Requires a High School Diploma or GED, 2+ years of property maintenance and customer service experience, ability to use common hand tools, physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds, and a flexible schedule. Competitive pay from $21.00 to $27.50 per hour plus potential monthly commission for renewals; full benefits for full-time employees.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ year’s property maintenance experience (apartment maintenance experience preferred)
- 2+ years customer service experience preferred
- Provide own hand tools such as screw drivers, wrenches, pliers, drill, hammer, hacksaw, sockets, level, bits, tape measure, utility knife, flashlight and Allen wrench set
- Ability to work weekend and evening on-call schedule
- Ability to perform the physical functions of the position (lift up to 75 pounds, climb stairs, etc.)
