Job Summary
Maintenance Technician for an R&D lab in Houston, TX, responsible for preventive maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment. Roles include managing and updating the preventive maintenance program, troubleshooting and repairing equipment, coordinating repairs with engineers and lab supervisors, testing equipment after service, performing electrical/mechanical/plumbing repairs per codes, installing piping and high-pressure components, servicing high-pressure components, managing spare parts inventory, maintaining the R&D tool room, coordinating on-site contractors, completing work permits and safety validations (LOTO, risk analysis, hot work), documenting machine files, reading blueprints and manuals, and maintaining compliance with safety and company procedures. Requires experience with motors, controls, hydraulics/pneumatics, reading diagrams, and proficiency with Smartsheet/Excel. Must be able to work with minimal supervision and communicate in English.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance (including motors, controls, power supplies, power distribution, hydraulics/pneumatics, lubrication, and power transmission)
- Minimum of 3 years of maintenance and machine tool repair experience
- Coursework in mechanics, electrical, electronics, metallurgy, or related field from a high school, technical or community college
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Use of Smartsheet / MS Excel to manage maintenance programs
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull 75 lbs
- Follow all applicable work instructions, specifications and requirements
- Maintain and support LOTO program including audits and training
