Job Summary
Perform repairs, troubleshoot mechanical systems, and complete preventative maintenance across assigned properties while conducting inspections of building and alarm systems. Restore vacated apartments to move-in condition and remove snow, ice, and leaves from sidewalks, walkways, and parking spaces. Complete janitorial requirements and patrol the property daily to remove trash, debris, and litter from grounds and common areas. Respond to on-call emergencies on weekends, evenings, and holidays, and assist with other properties within the portfolio as needed. This role requires a valid driver's license, ability to travel 10-20%, and proficiency in plumbing, electric, and machinery repair.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of two years of maintenance or construction experience
- Ability to read, speak and comprehend the English language
- Proficiency in performing plumbing, electric and machinery repair
- Ability to follow direction and work independently in a fast-paced, action-oriented environment
- Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Must have hand tools
- ANSI approved steel-toe shoes/composite
- Must have a valid Driver's License
- Must have reliable transportation
- Willing to assist with other properties within the portfolio and surrounding portfolios as needed
- Willing to travel up to 10-20% of the time
- Must be able to work a flex schedule and be on-call for emergencies on weekends, evenings, and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- One year of experience as a full-charge residential maintenance technician
- Knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations
- EPA certification
- HVAC certification
