Job Summary
Perform general, mechanical, and preventative maintenance duties, including inspections, repairs, and equipment movement across assigned facilities. Execute carpentry tasks such as installing sheetrock, plaster, metal studs, locks, and cabinetry while interpreting drawings. Operate and maintain boilers, ensuring safe operation and taking appropriate action for any issues. Consult with supervisors on project progress and problems, maintaining all required records and pertinent information. Requires a high school diploma, driver's license, and boiler operator licensing within 180 days. This role supports Avera's mission of Moving Health Forward through a multidisciplinary team focused on compassion and patient care.
Required Qualifications
- High School or GED Equivalent
- Driver's License (MN)
- Boiler Operator - Licensing Board within 180 Days
- 1-3 years experience in a related field
- visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
- ability to communicate effectively with others
- ability to hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds
- ability to perform and finish carpentry work
- ability to install sheetrock, plaster, metal studs (building materials) and perform culking
- ability to install locks and other door and cabinet hardware
- ability to assemble and install basic cabinetry and interpret drawings
- ability to operate and maintain boilers and take appropriate action for safe operation
- ability to work the hours specified
