Maintenance Technician

Job Summary
Collaborate internally to schedule preventative maintenance, manage spare parts inventory to eliminate downtime, and troubleshoot root causes for unplanned repairs. Assist with the installation and assembly of new equipment while improving existing facilities. Ensure operation of machinery by performing highly diversified maintenance tasks at our Vonore, TN metal processing plant. Work Monday-Friday from 5pm to 5am with availability for emergency repairs outside normal hours. Candidates must read mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical drawings, possess in-depth knowledge of hydraulics and electrical systems, and have proven fabrication experience including welding and plasma cutting. This role supports Precision Strip's mission as the nation's largest toll processor through collaborative problem solving and continuous process improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Be willing to work Monday-Friday from 5pm - 5am and be readily available for emergency repairs in breakdown situations outside of your normal hours
- Able to read and interpret mechanical, hydraulic and electrical drawings
- Have in depth knowledge and ability to troubleshoot hydraulics (pumps, motors, valves, cylinders) and electrical (single phase, DC circuits, PLC, knowledge of three phase, use multi-meter)
- Have in depth knowledge and experience with fabrication (welding, plasma, torch experience)
- Communicate effectively with all levels of organization and between shifts
- Support others to accomplish goals by responding with professionalism and having a strong sense of urgency to make reasonable decisions and swiftly refer to appropriate level if needed
- Looks for ways to continuously improve processes by anticipating problems, seeking best answers and exploring multiple possibilities to offer solutions
- Have proven maintenance experience preferably in manufacturing environment with preferably an accreditation from a technical school or applicable skills trade program
