Job Summary
Maintenance Technician responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks to preserve and enhance an apartment community. Tasks include completing service requests and repairs, assisting with inventory, maintaining a clean and safe work area, following preventative maintenance schedules, communicating with residents and staff, assisting with budget guidance and maintenance programs, supporting hazard communications, inspecting grounds and buildings, ensuring safety compliance, maintaining curb appeal, assisting with move-in/move-out and maintenance-related turn events, performing scheduled equipment maintenance per manufacturer guidelines, addressing resident complaints promptly, maintaining records and assisting in daily property upkeep, pool maintenance and chemical logs, and participating in on-call rotations for emergency service. Requires ability to troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances and other systems, use general maintenance tools and equipment, and adapt to varied schedules including weekends and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least one year maintenance experience, preferably in the apartment industry
- EPA certification Type I and II preferred
- Must live within 30 miles of the assigned property
- Must have reliable transportation and be able to accommodate a rotating on-call schedule as required
- Ability to work a varied schedule including weekends and holidays as required
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances and all other systems at community.
- Other licenses and certifications as required by local, state or federal law
- Position requires individuals to be able to use general maintenance equipment including, but not limited to, hand tools, ladders, refrigerant recovery units, landscaping equipment, and required safety equipment
