Job Summary
Complete service requests and maintenance work orders for plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, carpentry, drywall, and painting. Perform preventative maintenance on community equipment and buildings, prepare vacant units for new residents, and conduct routine inspections of grounds and amenities. Assist with emergency situations via on-call rotation and maintain accurate records of all activities. Manage inventory levels and support capital improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with safety standards. Work 20 hours per week on-site in Phoenix, AZ, with on-call availability for after-hours emergencies.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Current automobile insurance
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and materials as required by the position
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
- Previous apartment maintenance, facilities maintenance, building maintenance, or related experience
- Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance repair, carpentry, drywall, painting, and general maintenance practices
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment
- Basic computer and mobile technology skills for work order management systems and communication platforms
- Ability to work on-site as scheduled
- Participation in an on-call rotation and response to after-hours maintenance emergencies
