Job Summary
Maintenance Technician at The Point at Herndon responsible for performing comprehensive property maintenance across the community. Duties include plumbing and appliance repair, minor electrical work, HVAC troubleshooting and repairs, using hand and power tools, supporting the turnover process for resident move-ins, coordinating with the Property Manager and on-site management team, adhering to safety codes and protocols, and delivering professional, high-quality service to residents. The role requires strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently and in a team, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Schedule includes on-call rotation with potential evenings, weekends, and holidays, and a background and drug screening will be conducted prior to employment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 1-2 years of experience as a maintenance technician in a residential property
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Availability to work a flexible schedule including on-call rotation, weekends and holidays
- Successful completion of required background and drug screening prior to start of employment
- Ability to lift and carry up to or over 50 pounds
- Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into small spaces
