Maintenance Technician

Job Summary
Manage repair and replacement of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliance systems while completing resident service requests and coordinating contractor estimates. Perform routine maintenance tasks including grounds care, common area upkeep, trash management, and inspections to support operating budgets and property turnovers. Report accidents, emergencies, and safety concerns immediately and participate in the on-call rotation to respond to emergency maintenance requests. Assist in maintaining the community's luxury appearance and curb appeal at this 147-unit apartment community in Wauwatosa, WI.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation
- Must provide personal hand tools needed for the position
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in residential property maintenance or a related field preferred
- Comprehensive knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, construction, carpentry, painting, and general maintenance practices
- Ability to diagnose issues and implement effective solutions
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate professionally and respectfully with residents, coworkers, vendors, and management
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Commitment to providing outstanding customer service
- EPA Certification preferred
- Experience in multifamily housing maintenance is a plus
- Trade school or vocational certifications preferred
