Job Summary
Install, maintain, and improve all plant equipment while performing sheet metal fabrication, mill and lathe machining, and welding. Troubleshoot control and PLC logic, electrical schematics, and general food manufacturing processing equipment. Follow specific maintenance procedures for PMs, schedules, and documentation requirements. Respond in an expedient manner to all trouble calls and provide temporary support for other maintenance activities. Work in a safe manner adhering to GMPs, food safety standards, and housekeeping guidelines. Night shift employees receive an additional $2.25 per hour, with pay increasing to $31.13 after level 2 certification and up to $38.94 at level 6.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years as a general maintenance mechanic in a food processing environment
- 2+ years working knowledge of PLC and electrical troubleshooting
- Technical trade training pertaining to maintenance skills
- Solid work experience background
- Ability to work in a safe manner
- Ability to follow GMP's and housekeeping guidelines
- Ability to follow procedures to ensure all food quality standards are met or exceeded
- Ability to work together with the maintenance team to provide proactive support to other groups within the team
- Ability to respond in an expedient manner to all trouble calls
- Ability to accept responsibility for one's own performance, as well as the performance of the maintenance team
- Ability to maintain a proactive approach to service internal customers and the effort to continuously improve the operation of the plant
- Ability to work any shift
- Ability to consistently demonstrate an acceptable level of attendance and performance
- Ability to conduct work in a safe and legal manner, according to all GMP food safety standards, as well as following safety protocols
- Ability to be willing to be responsible for your safety and health, along with the safety and health of all employees, vendors, and visitors
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
