Job Summary
Maintenance Technician I for night shift responsible for troubleshooting, basic maintenance, and upkeep of equipment at the plant. Supports and enables preventative maintenance per work orders, learns basic maintenance skills, and collaborates with plant teams. Must communicate effectively, prioritize tasks, learn new skills, and perform duties safely and in compliance with food-safety requirements (HACCP). Night shift positions, rotating schedule, PPE use, and ability to work in a production environment with potential heat/cold, noise, and vibration. Responsibilities include performing basic maintenance, understanding safety, continuing skill development, and building relationships with team members to maintain efficient plant operations. The role emphasizes reliability, integrity, safety, and environmental responsibility in line with Ardent Mills’ plant operations.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- 2 years of experience in a Manufacturing environment
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks
- Willingness to learn new skills
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, including ability to problem solve
- Knowledge of food safety requirements and HACCP
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
- Willingness to work a rotating night shift including weekends and holidays
- Ability to operate a computer and use administrative/managerial software (CMMS)
