Maintenance Technician (Multi-Craft)

Job Summary

Conduct mechanical and electrical maintenance on multi-craft systems while adhering to strict safety rules, lockout procedures, and PPE requirements. Troubleshoot control-related issues, perform welding (MIG, Stick, TIG), and operate forklifts in confined spaces and at heights. Collaborate with teams to solve root causes, implement continuous improvement actions, and mentor new employees through onboarding. Read technical prints, document incidents, and utilize engineering support to prevent reoccurrence of issues. Willing to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime.

Required Qualifications

  • Adherence to Safety Rules: Follow all safety rules, procedures, and reporting policies for the plant, including lockout procedures, safety signs, and documentation.
  • Commitment to Safety Standards: Take ownership and commit to safety standards each day, ensuring the proper handling of chemicals within your area of responsibility.
  • Use of PPE: Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Reporting and Accountability: Promptly report all safety concerns and incidents, and hold teammates accountable for maintaining safety standards.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Mechanical and electrical industrial maintenance experience
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must be a US citizen or have the right to work in the US
  • Must be drug and alcohol free
  • Willing to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime

Desired Qualifications

  • Secondary education in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field preferred
  • Ability to trouble shoot problems control related systems
  • Proficient in basic computer functions, including email, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task, work well in a team environment, and provide excellent internal and external customer service
  • Competent in mathematical calculations (arithmetic, algebra, geometry) and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues
  • Comfortable working from heights and in confined spaces, and able to operate a forklift
  • Excellent welding abilities (MIG, Stick, TIG preferred)
  • High aptitude in mechanical, electrical, and controls, including hydraulic troubleshooting, repair, and improvement
  • Champion of 5S practices, with a strong safety record, attendance record, and integrity
  • Able to read technical prints and documents, and write, edit, and evaluate standard work
