Job Summary
Maintenance Technician at Mariner's Cove in San Diego, CA. Provide excellent service to residents and assist team members. Perform basic apartment turns to ready units for new move-ins, and complete resident-requested repairs and routine maintenance (e.g., troubleshoot and repair/replace plumbing, electrical components, HVAC equipment, and appliances). May provide directional guidance and training to other technicians and assist with move-in/move-out inspections. Requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts; strong customer service mindset; able to use technology to prioritize tasks and improve resident experiences.
Required Qualifications
- At least 2 years of maintenance experience, preferably in some form of facilities or building environment
- Proficient skills in at least two technical trades (plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, HVAC, carpentry, etc.)
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, 7-day work weeks (depending on community needs and seasonality), and on-call shifts (at least one week a month)
- A reliable mode of transportation to respond to emergency service requests while on-call after hours
- Comfort with physical activity as you must be able and willing to move heavy equipment and machinery
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
