Job Summary
Perform repairs and maintenance on building, property, and mechanical equipment while providing direct supervision to the maintenance department. Assist trades and contractors, manage supplier relationships, and vet contractor performance and costs. Operate a forklift to move pallets and dump garbage, purchase building materials, and transport supplies. Execute minor unsupervised repairs including painting, carpentry, and basic plumbing, as well as mechanical tasks like changing belts and greasing bearings. Supervise facility projects, determine project requirements, and read blueprints. Maintain log books, schedules, and safety records, and respond to off-hours alarm calls. This role requires 4-5 years of experience in building or equipment maintenance, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift 50 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with clean driving history (abstract required)
- 4-5 years' experience with performing building/mechanical/equipment repairs and maintenance or completion of formal training from a technical institution
- Ability to sit and/or stand for up to 7.5 hours per shift
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Extensive walking or movement, bending, kneeling, and working with machines
- Comfortable in environments with high noise levels
- Manual dexterity to perform repetitive tasks
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Citizen or Permanent Resident of the country you are applying for, or either hold or be able to obtain, a valid working visa
Desired Qualifications
- Forklift certificate or experience will be considered an asset (full training will be provided)
