Job Summary
Conduct general maintenance, repairs, and preventive maintenance on property grounds, apartments, and building exteriors while responding to resident service requests for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and appliance issues. Support the Maintenance Manager with budgets and administrative tasks, and execute the "make-ready" process for vacant homes by inspecting properties, creating punch lists, scheduling vendors, and completing repairs. Cover the shared on-call rotation for 24/7 emergency calls, troubleshooting problems and escalating to supervisors or contractors as necessary. Treat residents with respect, answer questions, and resolve complaints efficiently. Requires 3+ years of apartment maintenance experience, EPA/CFC certification, mastery of appliance/electrical/plumbing repair, and strong HVAC knowledge.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of apartment maintenance experience
- Universal EPA/CFC Certification
- Mastery of appliance, electrical and plumbing repair
- Strong understanding of HVAC repair
- Valid Driver's License
- Must live within 30 minutes of the property
- Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
- Must be responsible for taking calls for after hour's emergency maintenance; including nights and weekends on a rotational basis
- Must have personal/reliable transportation to get to work in order to respond to on-call emergencies as they occur
- Must carry a cell phone as required for on-call maintenance
- Ability to use a computer
- Ability to walk the grounds and apartments, ascend stairs around the property, lift 60 lbs., climb ladders over 10 feet, and perform other general physical activities
