Job Summary
Maintain facility systems using consistent preventative maintenance guidelines while ensuring all equipment remains in working order. Perform repairs and general maintenance on property grounds, including electrical, HVAC, and plumbing tasks, and complete required documentation. Assist the Chief Engineer with hotel operations, support houseman duties when assigned, and address guest issues with a professional, service-centric attitude. Adhere to safety standards, report hazardous conditions immediately, and exercise discretion to maintain guest privacy. Work any shift, including nights and weekends, while standing or walking for extended periods in various weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Honesty and trustworthiness
- Security clearances
- Working knowledge of electrical, HVAC, and plumbing
- Working knowledge of preventative maintenance
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to stand, lift, bend, learn, read, concentrate, think, and communicate
- Ability to push or pull 100 pounds unassisted
- Ability to lift and/or carry 60 pounds unassisted
- Ability to stand for eight hours
- Ability to bend, stretch, reach, climb ladders, crawl, kneel, and be low to the ground
- Ability to see and hear
- Ability to speak and read English
- Knowledge of the methods, practices, tools, equipment, and materials used in a variety of building and mechanical trades
- Knowledge of occupational hazards in the use of power tools and equipment and necessary safety precautions
- Knowledge of repairs and maintenance of furniture and fixtures within the hotel
- Knowledge of safety and security measures
- Knowledge of guidelines for training checklist of areas to be maintained
- Skill in use and care of hand and power tools and equipment appropriate to the area assignment
- Skill in performing preventative maintenance and repairs as well as general maintenance on property grounds
- Ability to practice Safety Standards at all times
- Ability to work as a team member
- Ability to comply to all standards
- Ability to remain service centric
- Ability to communicate professionally with guests and co-workers
- Ability to exercise discretion to maintain guest privacy
- Physical presence at the hotel
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time while maintaining a friendly professional image
