Job Summary
Complete service requests and maintenance work orders for plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry repairs. Perform preventative maintenance on community equipment, buildings, and common areas while conducting routine inspections to identify safety concerns. Prepare vacant units for new residents through make-ready and turn processes. Assist with emergency situations via on-call rotation and support capital improvement initiatives. Maintain accurate records of work orders, inspections, and inventory. Communicate effectively with residents and vendors to ensure exceptional service.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic computer and mobile technology skills for work order management systems and communication platforms
- Valid driver's license
- Current automobile insurance
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and materials as required by the position
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
- Previous apartment maintenance, facilities maintenance, building maintenance, or related experience
- Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance repair, carpentry, drywall, painting, and general maintenance practices
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment
Desired Qualifications
- HVAC certification
- Additional industry certifications
- Experience with Yardi, ResMan, On-Site, or other property management software
