Maintenance Technician- Instrumentation, PE&O

Job Summary

Install, troubleshoot, and calibrate pressure, level, flow, temperature instruments, control valves, and solenoid valves while performing loop checks and proof testing control and interlock systems. Diagnose control systems including PLCs and microprocessor-based units, configure wireless instrumentation, and repair Gas Chromatographs. Read P&ID loop diagrams and schematics, perform voltage and current measurements on low voltage circuits, and complete required PM documentation for ISO, Environmental, DOT, and PSM standards. Assist in training others and participate in project teams to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence. Perform shift work assignments as required to support plant needs.

Required Qualifications

  • A current, valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card
  • High School graduate plus one to two years of additional education in electrical, instrumentation or analyzer schools
  • Minimum two years of field experience in the Instrumentation/Electrical field
  • Must satisfy background screening including motor vehicle record screening, drug testing and pre-employment physical requirements
  • Ability to read P&ID's, schematics loop diagrams
  • Must have experience with Rosemount & Honeywell Smart Transmitters
  • Must have experience with repair and calibration of process control valves
  • Must have experience with various types of flow meters (Coriolis, DP, Multi-variable, Vortex, etc.)
  • Must have experience with Analytical Instrumentation (Moisture, LEL, O2, pH)
  • Must have experience with Temperature measurement devices (RTD's, TC's, controllers)
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to evacuate when required
  • Must be able to respond to audible emergency alarms inside the plant

Desired Qualifications

  • Four plus years of field experience in the Instrumentation/Electrical field
  • NICET Level 2 or higher certification
  • Microsoft Office software (specifically, Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Use of Digital Multimeters, Electronic Test Equipment
  • Written and Oral Communication
