Job Summary
Plan and perform repairs and preventive maintenance on industrial machinery, including CNC, press brakes, and material handling systems. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using test equipment, while programming and troubleshooting Variable Frequency Drives and PLC systems. Fabricate and install mechanical parts, assemble electrical wiring, and perform rigging activities to ensure equipment meets regulatory codes. Maintain a clean work area and follow all safety policies to support quality programs. Work the third shift from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM under direct supervision.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 4+ years of experience in manufacturing or industrial environment
- Basic critical thinking skills and strong attention to detail
- Ability to troubleshoot and assist with repairs and diagnostics of advanced processing equipment, CNC, material handling system, press brakes, lifting devices, and sawing equipment
- Basic knowledge of CNC programming as it related to both Windows and FANUC operating systems
- Understand maintenance and parameter functions of FANUC, CNC, and TwinCAT control systems
- Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to diagnose and repair complex systems
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with following directions as required
- Proficient in laser alignment and vibration monitoring techniques
- Competent in programming and troubleshooting Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
- Experience with mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics
- Proficient in testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes
- Competent in the use of oxyacetylene torch work and welding
- Must maintain welding certification
- Ability to operate forklifts, high lifts, and cranes
- Must maintain certifications for required equipment
- Proficiency in using hand tools (hammer, pliers, screwdriver, wrench, drill, grinder, bander)
- Ability to run existing programs and test programs on laser, plasma, and drilling machines
- Ability to speak, write, and comprehend conversational English
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods, including walking 2-5 miles per shift
- Ability to bend, sit, stand, twist, and stoop repeatedly for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing 25lbs – 50lbs from floor to waist and front carry up to 25lbs to 50lbs repeatedly per shift
- Ability to reach overhead, squat, kneel, and climb short ladders or steps
- Ability to perform work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures
- Ability to maintain coordination of hand and finger movements to grasp and manipulate objects with precision
- Ability to read labels, follow safety and standard operating procedures, and communicate effectively in an industrial environment
- 20/30 vision with the use of corrective lenses
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in AutoCAD and MasterCAM computer software preferred
