Job Summary
Maintenance Technician III stationed overseas on Roi-Namur in Kwajalein Atoll. Responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance of ALTAIR radar antenna electro-mechanical systems, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of radar components, motors, pumps, and related shop equipment. Maintains spare parts inventory, records maintenance activities, adheres to safety standards, and supports radar mission requirements. Requires associate degree or equivalent/military experience, 5+ years of mechanical field support experience, ability to lift 50 lbs, work at heights up to 150 ft, and obtain CAC clearance; willingness to relocate to Kwajalein Atoll and occasionally work non-duty hours/weekends. Preferred: CWI certification, SMAW/GTAW welding certifications (3G/4G), CAD familiarity; machining experience with vertical mill/lathe; strong communication skills; US passport and background check clearance.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in a technical field, equivalent military experience or experience in lieu of education
- Five (5) or more years of mechanical field support experience on electro-mechanical equipment
- Hands-on maintenance/repair experience
- Strong computer literacy (MS Office)
- Valid U.S. Passport
- Ability to pass Federal Background Investigation for CAC
- Ability to relocate to Kwajalein Atoll and obtain USAG-KA driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights up to 150 feet
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
- Ability to communicate with suppliers, prepare material estimates, write technical specs, and finalize as-built drawings
Desired Qualifications
- CWI certification (preferred)
- SMAW or GTAW welding certifications in 3G and 4G positions
- Machining experience with vertical mill/lathe
- CAD familiarity
- Valid US passport
- Ability to obtain/maintain CAC
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights up to 150 feet
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Relocation willingness to Kwajalein Atoll
