Job Summary

Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, conduct timely repairs to restore full operational capacity, and perform routine maintenance inspections on production and service equipment. Identify spare parts to minimize downtime, schedule and document all maintenance activities within the Computerized Maintenance Management System, and assist the Department Manager in planning projects. Maintain accurate production records, inspect components for quality compliance, and support the onboarding of new employees. Respond promptly to weekend and emergency calls per the established on-call policy. This 1st shift role requires 7+ years of hands-on experience in injection molding manufacturing, forlift certification, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Based on experience, pay ranges up to $39.00 per hour with a $5,000 sign-on bonus. The position is located at Vollrath's Dane, Wisconsin facility.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 7 years of hands-on experience as a Maintenance Technician in an injection molding manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated experience in repair and fabrication techniques
  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical principles
  • Ability to interpret job layouts, identify materials, and effectively select and utilize appropriate tools and resources
  • Forklift experience
  • Willingness and ability to obtain forklift certification
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to work with a variety of tools and materials applicable to the position
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs frequently throughout the shift
  • Ability to stand for 8–10 hours
  • Ability to walk, crawl, climb ladders, or work in confined spaces
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring precise hand-eye coordination, including assembly, tool operation, and use of heavy machinery
  • Ability to visually inspect materials and equipment
  • Ability to detect auditory warning signals in environments with ambient noise
  • Ability to follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Requirement to wear appropriate personal protective equipment including safety-toed shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required certifications for forklift, powered pallet jack, and hoist/crane operation
  • Adherence to lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures
  • Adherence to hazardous material handling protocols where applicable
  • Ability to work in non-climate-controlled environments
  • Ability to work near moving mechanical parts
  • Availability for weekend and emergency calls as per the established on-call policy

Desired Qualifications

  • Specialized trade knowledge through trade or vocational school
  • Associate degree in Electronics, Automation Programming, etc. or completion of a State Indentured Apprenticeship Program
  • Familiarity with HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and general facility maintenance
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office
  • Experience with JDE or similar ERP software
