Job Summary
Maintenance Technician II at AvalonBay Communities in Miramar, FL. Responsible for diagnosing and repairing HVAC, electrical, plumbing, major appliances, carpentry, emergency systems, flooring, hardware accessories, masonry, painting/wallpaper, water features, and waste management systems; completing service requests promptly; ensuring vacant apartment homes are rent-ready; performing preventative maintenance; assisting in interior/exterior painting; maintaining a safety-focused culture; performing hot works (brazing, soldering, welding) within company standards; requires 2-3 years of maintenance experience, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to participate in monthly on-call rotation. Strong communication with residents and team; ability to read policies and SDS; knowledge of PPE and chemical handling; familiar with emergency policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- 2-3 years of maintenance experience
- A valid driver's license
- Ability to accommodate an on-call schedule in rotation with the team
- Ability to communicate with associates and residents
- Ability to read and understand policies and procedures including SDS and Hazard Communication
- Knowledge of PPE and proper chemical handling
- Knowledge of emergency systems, shutoffs, and sequence of operations
- Basic understanding of paint types and painting tools
- Ability to identify cleaning and chemical supplies
