Job Summary
Maintenance Technician II at AvalonBay Communities responsible for diagnosing and repairing HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other systems, completing service requests and preventative maintenance, ensuring vacant apartments are rent-ready, performing turnkey work, and supporting safety and on-call rotation with a focus on repairs, safety, and high-quality living environments.
Required Qualifications
- 2-3 years of maintenance experience (HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, and general maintenance)
- A valid driver’s license
- Ability to accommodate an on-call schedule in rotation
- Ability to read and understand policies/procedures including Maintenance policies and SDS
- Knowledge of PPE and safe chemical handling
- Basic reading/understanding of hazard communication safety data sheets (SDS)
- Ability to perform preventive maintenance and turnkey work
- Willingness to perform hot works (brazing, soldering, welding) per standards
- Strong communication with residents and associates
- Commitment to safety policies and incident-free workplace
