Job Summary
Maintenance Technician II inspects, maintains, repairs and installs mechanical, electromechanical, pneumatic and/or hydraulic equipment at plants and pump stations. Performs mechanical, electrical, hydraulic or pneumatic troubleshooting, estimates time/material costs, dismantles and reassembles equipment, tests operations, calibrates portable meters (e.g., dissolved oxygen, pH), conducts routine and preventative maintenance, and may fabricate devices or weld piping. Requires use of precision measuring devices, PPE, and ability to work in an operations environment with occasional outdoor exposure; may assist in training others and operate in team settings. Training and certifications such as HAZWOPER Level I/II, OSHA-related safety, and relevant trade licenses may be required; position supports Veolia’s water/wastewater operations and safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 2-5 years of experience in maintenance/related position
- Ability to read, write and comprehend English
- Valid driver’s license
- HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response) Level I and II First Responder Certification
- Safety training including OSHA and quality procedures
- Experience with mechanical, electro-mechanical, hydraulic or pneumatic systems
- Capability to read specifications, blueprints and manuals
- Ability to operate Computer Maintenance Management System
- Team-oriented and willing to assume additional responsibilities
- May have HVAC, Electrician, Plumber certifications if assigned to that area
- Forklift certification if required by site
