Job Summary
Conduct maintenance on turnover and renovation units while responding to service requests for internal and external repairs including drywall, painting, plumbing, HVAC, and appliance fixes. Operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts, and repair wooden structures like cabinets and counters. Manage inventory, prepare paperwork, and maintain equipment storage facilities. Participate in emergency and after-hours coverage based on the established schedule. Requires 2-5 years of experience in all trades, weekend availability, and ability to read service orders. Located at The Martin, a 479-unit community in Sunnyvale, CA.
Required Qualifications
- 2-5 years of experience in all trades (electrical, plumbing, drywall, paint, appliances, etc.)
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill in performing quality work
- Able to use required tools and machinery
- Professional interaction with co-workers, residents and vendors
- Knowledge and continued education of OSHA requirements
- Knowledge of MSDS requirements appropriate to the scope of work
- Ability to read and interpret service orders and documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work weekends
- Completion of successful background screen
- Completion of drug test
