Maintenance Technician II & III

Job Summary
Maintenance Technician II and III are journey-level professionals responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and ensuring reliability of bakery production equipment and facility systems. II operates independently across mechanical and electrical systems, supports preventive maintenance, vendor coordination, and mentoring of Technician I staff. III serves as the facility's top technical resource with advanced controls, PLC programming, robotics, and automation; leads capital projects, drives reliability strategy, and elevates team competency. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing equipment (mixers, dividers, molders, ovens, proofers, slicers, packaging machinery), executing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting from schematics and manuals, coordinating with vendors/contractors, sourcing parts, training staff, participating in improvement initiatives, and ensuring food safety and safety standards are met. For Technician III, additional duties include PLC/HMI/DCS programming, robotics maintenance, advanced electrical troubleshooting, capital project leadership, and mentoring across the team.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or completion of a formal apprenticeship or trade program in industrial maintenance, electrical, or mechanical fields preferred
- 3–5 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably food or bakery production
- Demonstrated proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems; working knowledge of motors, VFDs, pneumatics, and control systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals independently
- Experience with CMMS software for work order management and documentation
- Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced production environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with vendors, contractors, and internal teams
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work at heights, and perform tasks in warm and physically demanding conditions
