Job Summary
Maintenance Technician II responsible for maintaining a safe, productive facility by servicing and improving building systems, production/process equipment, and associated infrastructure. Duties include preventive maintenance to minimize downtime, inspection of boilers, chilled water and hot water loops, air compressors, pumps, piping, air handlers, PLCs, and external structures; diagnosing mechanical problems via blueprints and manuals; repairing or replacing defective parts with hand and power tools; coordinating contractor work, managing safe work permits, supporting the work order system, and providing on-site training and backup support to the Maintenance Supervisor. Strong emphasis on interdepartmental collaboration, adherence to safety protocols, and participation in the on-call program; requires high school diploma or equivalent and at least five years in a manufacturing environment, with preference for a technical or trade school diploma and experience in automation/controls and related trades.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 5 years of experience in a role supporting a manufacturing environment
- Experience with three or more of the following trades: Plumbing, Pipefitting, Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, Automation & Controls, Welding (Structural & Pipe) and General Construction
- Must be able to understand contracts and systems manuals as well as read blueprints
- Interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate in a professional manner
- Teamwork skills, the ability to multi-task, and the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems
- Participation in On-Call program
- Must be able to read blueprints and repair manuals as necessary
