Job Summary
Ensure residents have safe, comfortable apartments in good repair by promptly addressing concerns and making appropriate handyman repairs. When a resident moves out, prepare units to be move-in ready for the next tenant. Keep grounds neat and free of litter, while performing emergency after-hours maintenance as required. Deescalate unhappy residents and negotiate cost-effective resolutions using strong interpersonal skills. Coordinate regularly with vendors and outside contractors. Document all work performed on service requests and maintain tight inventory control of equipment and materials. Full-time hours from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. On-call rotation is scheduled for one week every 4-8 weeks.
Required Qualifications
- One year of relevant experience in maintenance, construction, home repair, or as a handyman
- Familiar with skills in electrical, plumbing, appliance repair, HVAC, carpentry, and general maintenance repairs
- Sufficient proficiency with the technology needed to enter data into computer software, use emails systems, and operate a smartphone
- Ability to frequently push or pull up to 50 lbs, occasionally lift up to 75 lbs, kneel, crouch, climb, crawl, and work in a variety of weather conditions
- Reliable transportation
