Job Summary
Provide electrical expertise for the installation and maintenance of plant equipment and production assets. Troubleshoot electrical failures to identify root causes, then diagnose problems accurately to implement permanent corrective measures. Perform routine preventative maintenance and work order tasks while reporting to the Lead Hand on shift. Liaise with other departments to ensure effective communication and repair parts in the shop as required. Complete maintenance reports and logs to support planning, while adhering to all safety, quality, and food safety policies. Work effectively in a processing environment with the Maintenance team, maintaining good housekeeping practices. This role supports all plant departments using electrical expertise and production equipment experience.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Ontario licensed electrician recognized by College of Trades
- 3 to 5 years proven industrial experience troubleshooting pumps, automated systems, pneumatic & robotic equipment
- Hold a valid Construction or Industrial Electrician license
- Valid Class B Operator Refrigeration License
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and exercise effective judgment
- Solid mechanical troubleshooting ability
- Excellent attendance record and demonstrated reliability
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively
- Willingness to work overtime if required for vacation coverage, projects and audit preparation
- Ability to work in a processing environment without jeopardizing food safety
- Adherence to all safety & quality policies and procedures
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience as an electrician or maintenance technician in a continuous process manufacturing environment, preferably in food or pharmaceuticals
- Having a Millwright license
