Job Summary
Ensure proper operation of conveyor systems and material handling equipment by responding timely to breakdowns, conducting daily inspections, and performing routine preventive maintenance. Change and repair parts, rebuild and align gears, shafts, pulleys, and belts using illustrated manuals, while adhering to strict safety protocols and OSHA requirements. Perform housekeeping duties and conduct after-hours support to maintain optimum system capacity during 24-hour operations. Requires high voltage electrical experience, knowledge of LOTO and 3-phase motors, and ability to read schematics.
Required Qualifications
- 3 years or greater related experience and/or training in mechanical and electrical equipment
- High voltage electrical experience
- Current Driver's License and clean driving record
- ability to learn and follow all safety regulations and job instructions
- ability to utilize company tools and have the ability to purchase new tools as needed
- knowledge of Material Handling Systems (MHS), industrial conveyor systems and controls in distribution, shipping, and sorting environments, VFDs, and electronic motors (480V)
- knowledge of LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out), PMs (Preventative Maintenance), and 3-Phase electrical work
- ability to read and understand schematics and electrical blueprints
- mechanical and or electrical work experience
- knowledge of OSHA requirements
- ability to maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate 24-hour operations, occasionally working extended hours, weekends, and holidays as needed
- ability to lift 60 pounds on a routine basis
