Job Summary
Conduct general maintenance and repair of minor building problems as directed by a supervisor, ensuring adherence to OSHA regulations and internal safety policies. Operate company vehicles, sweeper, high-pressure steamer, and other necessary equipment while performing preventative maintenance and supporting Horseshoe courtesy guidelines. Promote outstanding guest relations and respond to visual and aural cues regarding guest and employee conflicts. Requires a high school diploma, two years in mechanics, valid Louisiana driver's license, and ability to work any day or shift. Tolerance for second-hand smoke, dust, and bright lights is necessary.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Minimum of two (2) years in mechanics
- Valid Louisiana driver's license
- Ability to get along well with co-workers and work as a team player
- Excellent customer service skill
- Ability to work any day, any shift
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to respond to calmly and make rational decisions when handling guest and employee conflicts
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to respond to visual and aural cues
- Ability to stoop, bend, as well as, maneuver up and down stairs
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Manual dexterity to grab, grip, type, pull, hold, tear, sort, reach, and file appropriate paperwork
- Ability to perform physical and mental duties of engineering personnel
- Ability to recognize and respond to individuals with their questions
- Ability to present a well-groomed appearance
- Ability to tolerate areas containing second hand smoke, dust and bright lights
- Ability to operate the following equipment: computer, telephones, fax, and copy machine
- Ability to learn and retain locations, operation and repair procedures of this property's mechanical systems, equipment and life safety system
- Coordination and dexterity to work with sweeper, high-pressure steamer, company vehicles, front loaders, man lifts, backhoes, and other necessary equipment
