Job Summary
Maintenance Technician II performs a wide range of maintenance and repair activities on plant and mobile equipment in an industrial scrap-recycling environment. Uses technical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics to troubleshoot, diagnose, calibrate, and repair equipment, engines, and compressors; handles mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems (e.g., loaders, shears, grapples, skid steers, forklifts, shredders, conveyors); conducts welding/grinding/torching as required; safely sets up/disassembles machinery; follows safety policies/regulations including hazardous materials handling; maintains organized work area; communicates equipment status and repair needs with supervisors and teams.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 1–3 years of related maintenance experience (industrial or mobile equipment preferred)
- Basic mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, schematics, and equipment manuals
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
