Job Summary
Maintenance Technician II performs preventive maintenance and routine repairs on plant and mobile equipment in a scrap-yard environment, troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems (including loaders, shears, grapples, skid steers, forklifts, shredders, conveyors). Responsibilities include welding, grinding, torching, weld setup, safe disassembly/assembly of machinery, and adherence to safety policies; requires reading diagrams and manuals, ability to work both independently and in teams, and effective communication with supervisors and other departments.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1–3 years of related maintenance experience (industrial or mobile equipment preferred)
- Basic mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, schematics, and equipment manuals
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Work authorization in the United States
